I hear the morning birds singing through the open windows, and it’s a celebration because this is the first night since winter that I slept with the windows open. It was a fantastic, fresh and crisp sleep I had last night, too.
I just re-heated the coffee I bought yesterday at cafe. I microwaved it milk and all. My Bunn coffee maker is eyeing me suspiciously, wondering if I’ve forgotten how to use it. Never fear, Mr. Bunn, all is well.
Behind me, the sun is creeping slowly around the city, but it hasn’t made its appearance yet. It’s weird to think that next week, after Daylight Savings Time, it’ll be 7 AM instead of 6 AM now. I fear DC will find the time change abominable, especially when she misses her wet food at the normal times.
She’s currently peering out a window, looking fat and happy. Her ears have gotten much taller – it’s odd. When she first arrived here to live with me, she held her ears kind of flattened. I think she was scared and people may have pulled her ears at some point. It’s amazing how physical bodies can change, when they are in a relaxed space.
Today is Friday (cue Rebecca Black!) My goal for today is to purchase some sneakers in size six. I feel annoyed that I threw out all my size six shoes because I got it into my head that I am a size seven (I’m not.) The good news is I get to start fresh with my shoe collection. I also want to stop at Alice and Olivia again for the green sweater that goes with the pants I got last week.
Now time to finish watching “The Imitation Game.” I’m blown away at the mathematics that created computing machines! All that allowed me to type this today. Wow.
