Dear Mari Kondo, Part Two

But Mari, the cleanliness – the tidiness – is unsettling. some of us are addicted to chaos, Mari; what type of witchery are you playing at today?

In all seriousness, I find myself leaning in to the little tiny things that I’m almost embarrassed to like: like cleaning my carpet using a hand vacuum cleaner, and rearranging the furniture when I feel like dancing to a song.

So it’s like I’ve created this space for vulnerability, through vulnerability: a place (home) that is composed of items that are reflections of my inner joy. It’s like saying, “yes, this is who I am, and these are my things.”

As I look at my living room, I think about God in genesis, when he saw what he had created, and he thought, “yes, yes…this is good.”

Stay frosty, Mari,

Pearl ❤
